The Olde Canton Homeowners Association (OCC HOA) is excited to announce a series of initiatives designed to keep our neighborhood visually appealing, connected, and well-informed.
A key component of our modernization effort is a new entryway sign. A new sign is more than just the immediate aesthetic benefits of an attractive and functional. It's a strategic investment in our neighborhood's future to highlight our property values and emphasize our community pride.
The current entry sign is aging and collapsing into our neighbor's homes. The OCC HOA is cleaning and removing elements of our current sign to prepare for the installation of a new, more sturdy, and permanent entry sign. Over the Fall and Winter of 2023, the OCC HOA requested and received several estimates to remove our current sign and install a brick sign on a cemented foundation. The entry sign will represent the value and strength of our community.
The project needs obtaining permission and permits from Cobb County, cleaning and preparing the common area, digging and pouring concrete footings, and careful brickwork with a permanently affixed sign representative of Olde Canton Chase's style and stability. Our estimates indicate the overall project is likely to cost between $20,000 - $25,000 to place a sign on each side of the entry.
As the plans for the project solidify, the OCC HOA will organize a fundraising campaign to supplement our ask to our residents. We understand that a special assessment to improve our common areas can present an unexpected hardship. Our goal is to minimize the impact on our residents so that we can continue our history of low annual assessments.
